Good Home Needed for '32 Ford Coupe
By 2011, I had started republishing Dad's books. It turned out to be a very satisfying project, as I had been hearing from his fans for several years. Their stories of how those books had impacted their lives made this a worthwhile project. I was attending car shows, photographing cars, and meeting cool people. The next logical step was to get a car. It seemed like a hot rod would be the greatest tribute to my dad, so that is the road I started on. I had no idea how long it would take to get it built...silly me. So, here it is, finished! Beautiful! Fun to drive....and yet, I find it is time to let it go. Why? In 2013, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I only cried once during my recoveryring the entire ordeal of surgery, chemo, and radiation. When the doctor told me that life after cancer would be different than life before cancer, tears rolled down my cheeks. She explained it wasn't better or worse, just different. She was right. During my recovery, I turned to nature. I spent hours and hours outside observing birds and other animals. It became a passion to photograph a local pair of swans. As I became more involved, I became known as the swan lady, and became a part of DNR swan releases. Now my focus is teaching people about the plight of the trumpeter swans. I've been working on a series of children's books to tell the stories I witnessed. Unfortunately, my interest in cars has waned. My dad taught me a lot of things, and he would feel so bad to see this hot rod sitting in the garage, not being driven. Please help me find a good home for it!!
